Half and half

A quick update to show yesterdays progress...

I wanted to further try to illustrate what my proposed solution to buildings falling 'off the edge' of the crab colour 'stamp'...

...I thought having half the building raised slightly and coloured would emphasise the stamp and make the model a little bit more interesting looking. Not realistic, but interesting!

If you imagine this on a bigger scale with more buildings, it would be quite a cool looking technique and help draw the users eye into the center of the model.

Finally a couple showing the started 1:500 Kunsthaus Graz model...

...it's being made from yellow foam, milliput and (lots of) car body filler. The shape is sanded and shaped using templates and pictures of the real thing. The final protruding funnels sprouting from the roof will be styrene tubing drilled in and then smoothed in using milliput. The whole lot will then be sanded and polished until glass smooth.
